Following their role in the planning of the now-failed European Super League, it remains to be seen whether Liverpool are set to be punished.

Any of the options being mooted could hamper the club quite considerably whether that be points deductions, eliminations from Europe or instant relegations. Indeed, finishing lower down the current standings, missing out on European football or being demoted would certainly have a glaring impact on the club’s reputation and revenue.

However, it would also leave Jurgen Klopp in a hugely precarious position.

Following the Reds’ 1-1 draw with Leeds United the day after the Super League was announced, the German suggested that it was not “fair” that his team were getting criticised for decisions made by the owners of the clubs.

Any sanctions imposed though would surely have an impact on his squad, despite the players and management team not playing a role in the creation of the Super League.

So with Barber appealing for punishments to those involved, Liverpool and Klopp will certainly have to keep a cautious eye on proceedings in the near future and hope that they are not impacted too severely.

If the club are punished due to actions of ownership, then Klopp, and his players, will rightly be furious.

ذكرت تقارير صحفية، أن الدولي المغربي أشرف بن شرقي، جناح الزمالك، يُرهن مُستقبله مع بطل الدوري المصري في الموسم الماضي، بنتائج انتخابات مجلس إدارة الفارس الأبيض.

وينتهي عقد بن شرقي مع الزمالك بنهاية الموسم الكروي الجاري، ولم يصل الطرفان إلى اتفاق بشأن تجديد العقد بينهما حتى الآن.

وكان بن شرقي قد انضم إلى الزمالك، قبل عامين ونصف قادمًا من الهلال السعودي في يوليو 2019، ويأمل الأبيض في استمراره لفترة أطول.

صحيفة “هسبريس” المغربية في نسختها الفرنسية، أكدت في تقرير لها صباح اليوم الجمعة أن بن شرقي أبلغ زملاءه داخل الفريق أنه لا يريد التجديد حال نجح مجلس الإدارة الحالي في الانتخابات.

وانطلقت صباح اليوم الجمعة 11 فبراير 2022، انتخابات الزمالك، لاختيار رئيس ومجلس إدارة جديد يستمر لـ4 سنوات قادمة حتى 2026.

ويتنافس في الانتخابات 67 مرشحا على كافة المناصب المختلفة من رئيس مجلس إدارة ونائب وأمين صندوق و6 أعضاء فوق السن و3 اعضاء تحت السن.

وأكدت الصحيفة أن بن شرقي أكد لزملائه بالفعل أنه لن يستمر حال استمرار المستشار مرتضى منصور رئيسًا للنادي، خاصًة بسبب المشاكل التي حدثت قبل رحيل المجلس الحالي عقب نهائي دوري أبطال إفريقيا 2020.

وأوضحت الصحيفة وفقًا لمعلومتها أنه على الرغُم من ذلك إلا أن إدارة الزمالك أبلغت بن شرقي بموعد من أجل الحديث واستئناف المفاوضات بشأن التمديد.

يُذكر أن بن شرقي هذا الموسم رفقة الزمالك، شارك في 8 مباريات بالدوري المصري ودوري أبطال إفريقيا، وسجّل 5 أهداف وصنع هدفًا.

يُذكر أن هذا التعادل جعل رصيد مانشستر يونايتد 40 نقطة بالمرتبة الخامسة وبفارق الأهداف عن صاحب المركز الرابع وست هام يونايتد.

Newcastle United have reportedly enquired about a potential move to sign Kristoffer Ajer from Celtic, according to CaughtOffside.

As per the news outlet, the Parkhead faithful are preparing for the Norway international to leave in the summer transfer window, with Norwich City also registering an interest in signing him.

The desire for both teams to sign Ajer is ‘strong’ and he is expected to leave Glasgow as he only has one year left on his contract, so it may just be a matter of who makes the better offer to the Hoops.

The St. James’ Park faithful should certainly try and bring the big central defender to the North East and thus fend off the competition from the Canaries.

Standing at six-feet-six-inches tall, he should have no problems whatsoever in adapting to both the physical and aerial demands of the Premier League, and he certainly has not struggled defensively in the Scottish Premiership so far in the 2020/21 term, winning no fewer than 5.8 of his duels while also averaging 3.4 clearances, 1.4 interceptions and 1.3 tackles per game, helping the Celts keep a mammoth 15 clean sheets in the process (Sofascore).

Former Tyneside club ace Lee Clark, who managed Ajer during a loan spell at Kilmarnock, dubbed him as an ‘outstanding’ player back in March, which is certainly high praise, and there seems to be no doubt that he would give Steve Bruce a great option to use in the heart of the defence.

O Fluminense vai ao Couto Pereira neste domingo em busca dos três pontos, mas Levir Culpi & Cia. não esperam qualquer tipo de facilidade no duelo com o Coritiba, às 18h30, válido pela 32ª rodada do Brasileirão. Tanto para o técnico quanto para o elenco, a posição do rival na tabela, brigando contra o rebaixamento, não indica que o Flu terá uma missão fácil no Alto da Glória.

Apesar das três derrotas consecutivas, Levir Culpi tem insistido que a equipe vem tendo um bom rendimento em campo, o qual não está sendo acompanhado pelo resultado. Assim, o técnico não quer uma mudança de postura em relação aos últimos jogos, basta aproveitar as chances no duelo.

– O que deve mudar é o resultado. Quem que não corre no time? Tem alguém que não dê sangue? Isso não existe. Os jogadores se esforçam. Temos de respeitar o adversário. Não existe só o Flu. Perdemos três vezes. Para ter resultado, precisamos de atitude e aproveitar as chances – afirmou Levir..

Para Giovanni, é importante que o Fluminense entre em campo com a mesma entrega do que o adversário, que contará com o apoio da torcida coxa-branca. O lateral-esquerdo afirma que o elenco do Fluminense está tão motivado quanto o do Coritiba, que luta contra o rebaixamento.

A semana livre de jogos serviu para Levir Culpi treinar bastante a equipe tricolor, mas as atividades não indicaram qual equipe o treinador optará por colocar em campo. Ontem, nas Laranjeiras, Pierre participou do rachão e está à disposição do técnico. No entanto, como o camisa 5 teve problemas físicos nos últimos dias, Douglas pode herdar a vaga no meio-campo do Fluminense.

O lateral-esquerdo Giovanni será mantido no lugar do titular William Matheus, que não se recuperou de lesão muscular. No ataque, a tendência é de que Levir volte a escalar Scarpa, Wellington e Richarlison, apesar do rendimento ruim nas últimas rodadas: foram só três gols nos últimas três partidas.

A manutenção do trio de ataque também se dá pela falta de opção. Não há um jogador reserva pedindo passagem para entrar na equipe titular do Tricolor.

Nuno Santo’s men came into this clash off the back of two straight defeats. They also welcomed the Clarets to Molineux with clean sheets in consecutive games.

However, on this occasion, it was the Old Gold who were made to look like the team fighting relegation.

Chris Wood put them to the sword by scoring a hat-trick in a romping 4-0 win for Sean Dyche’s men.

Willy Boly was at sixes and sevens for the vast majority of the game, missing the header that led to Wood’s opening goal. Adama Traore inexplicably gave the ball away for Wood’s second and then if things couldn’t get any worse, they left the New Zealanders giant frame open from a corner for his third.

Boly was particularly poor but Romain Saiss didn’t exactly enjoy a great game either.

The Moroccan was woeful defensively and that was summed up with his actions for Ashley Westwood’s goal late on.

Saiss gave the ball away terribly which then led to Wood dancing into the penalty area. He fed the Burnley midfielder who consequently rifled the ball home with compelling accuracy.

The centre-back tried to make up for it by taking a rasping effort from distance as the clock ticked down but like most of the things he tried on Sunday, it was poor as the ball sailed high over the bar.

Taking to Twitter, Wolves reporter Tim Spiers was left stunned by what he saw in the Midlands, saying: “Saiss, Coady and Boly all play at centre half for their countries but it feels like Darren Peacock and Simon Coleman are back in defence today. A catalogue of basic errors.”

Saiss and co never looked comfortable throughout the game as Wood bullied them with his physicality and Matej Vydra ran then ragged in behind.

Over the course of the match, the defender struggled to play out from the back, completing only 69% of his passes.

That meant that he surrendered possession on 24 occasions; at least Boly was competent in possession, finding a teammate with 75% of his passes.

He did produce five tackles but his ability on the ball and his level of concentration has to be questioned.

Wolves don’t have anything to play for during the remaining weeks of the season but this was a performance that lacked any sort of authority and desire. It was a pathetic showing; Nuno should have been fuming in the dressing room.
