In October, the ICC approved the creation of a league-style Test Championship and redrew the lines of one-day cricket as part of an extensive restructuring of the international game. The first play-off in the newly constituted Test Championship is now scheduled to be held in 2013, the same year as the next Champions Trophy.A one-day cricket league – mirroring the existing team rankings – will also be part of the FTP, starting in April 2011 and running over four years to culminate in the crowning of the first ODI league champion in April 2014. The league will run separately from the World Cup, further crowding the calendar.The Champions Trophy was first played in 1998 and has typically been held every two years since. أعلن كل مدرب ولاعب ومشجع تقريبًا شهدوا فريقهم في مواجهة الأرجنتين في كأس العالم هذه أنهم سيمنعون ميسي من إنتاج سحره.

يمكن القول إن المملكة العربية السعودية هي الفريق الوحيد الذي حقق هذا حتى الآن، على الرغم من أنهم حتى تلقوا هدفًا لميسي من ركلة جزاء.

وفي حديثهما للصحافة، أصبح هيرنانديز وجيرو آخر من أصدر بيان مهمتهما بشأن ميسي.

Newcastle United ‘might be tempted to consider offers’ for Miguel Almiron this summer, according to Mark Douglas for The I. 

The lowdown

The Magpies shelled out a then-club record £20m to sign the Paraguay international from MLS outfit Atlanta United in January 2019. It was the most expensive departure in the league’s history and ranks in the top six on Newcastle’s list of record incomings.

However, the 28-year-old has arguably struggled to live up to that price tag over the past three-and-a-half seasons. It took him 24 matches to register his first goal involvement, and he has only contributed to 19 goals (scored 14, set up five) in his 120 appearances for the club overall.

The Paraguayan’s £42,300-per-week contract runs until the summer of 2024, and he is valued at £14.4m by Transfermarkt.

The I’s northern football correspondent Douglas has listed some of the players who ‘might go’ in order to trim an oversized squad and ease any Financial Fair Play (FFP) concerns for Newcastle.

The reporter named Almiron as a player for whom the club could be tempted to entertain transfer offers, and while it’s not yet a certainty that thr 28-year-old will be made available, it may be one to keep an eye on.

The verdict

Between 22 January and 10 March, Almiron played just 17 minutes across three appearances, and the outlook at St James’ Park seemed bleak for him.

However, his involvement in Eddie Howe’s team has since increased. Indeed, he has started six of the Magpies’ last eight Premier League matches, scoring the winner against Crystal Palace last month.

That is why some Newcastle supporters might be surprised to read of his potential exit. While his goal contribution record does leave a lot to be desired, the St James’ Park faithful may still be sad to see him go if he is sold.

In the words of Paul Merson, Almiron ‘gives every last drop for the cause’, a trait which is often appreciated by football fans in their clubs’ players.

Desde que voltou à presidência do Corinthians, Andrés Sanchez segue sua filosofia de apostar em contratações de vários jovens que têm se destacado. Para o elenco profissional, o maior exemplo é o atacante Matheus Matias, de 19 anos, que estava no ABC. O jogador era o artilheiro do Brasil nesta temporada e foi contratado pelo Timão com pensamento a longo prazo – tem sido preparado pela comissão técnica e ainda não atuou. Além dele, o zagueiro Marllon, 25 anos e ex-Ponte Preta, também foi uma aposta da diretoria.

A estratégia não é apenas para o elenco principal. Na base, o Corinthians contratou recentemente três jogadores: os atacantes Rael, ex-Avaí, e Mateus Criciúma, ex-Porto, além do meia Rafinha, ex-Ferroviária. O trio integra o sub-20, que estreia na Copa do Brasil da categoria no dia 28, contra o Boa Esporte.

O Corinthians tem garimpado todos os campeonatos estaduais em busca de outros jovens. Para justificar essas apostas, no Timão é lembrado principalmente o volante Paulinho, atualmente no Barcelona. O jogador, destaque do Bragantino em 2010, foi contratado pelo Corinthians, ganhou Brasileirão, Libertadores e Mundial, e ainda foi vendido por cerca de R$ 53 milhões ao Tottenham – o Timão ficou com metade do valor.

O técnico Fábio Carille, embora não queira ter um elenco inchado, aprova o planejamento da diretoria. O treinador disse que o clube ainda buscará mais jovens que estão se destacando nos estaduais e negou que a chegada desses jogadores atrapalhe na rotina de treinamentos.

– O planejamento é o mesmo. A ideia do presidente é de trazer seis ou sete jogadores jovens. Não atrapalha nada o dia a dia. Todos que chegaram vão ter de passar a conhecer melhor o clube, não tem nada de diferente – disse Carille.

Com novos jovens na mira, o “pacotão do Andrés” deve crescer até o fim deste primeiro semestre de 2018. É a estratégia do presidente eleito em fevereiro, e Carille diz aprovar o planejamento.

Tottenham Hotspur are plotting a bid to bring Dan Neil to north London in the summer transfer window.

What’s the talk?

That’s according to Pete O’Rourke, with the transfer insider revealing in a recent post on Twitter that Fabio Paratici is eyeing a move for the Sunderland midfielder at the end of the current campaign.

However, the journalist added that the 20-year-old is also attracting the attention of Crystal Palace and Brighton & Hove Albion.

In his tweet, O’Rourke said: “Tottenham, Crystal Palace and Brighton are eyeing moves for Sunderland star Dan Neil.”

Considering just how much potential Neil possesses, it is easy to see why Spurs would be interested in a move for the England under-20 international this summer.

Indeed, over his 39 League One appearances this season, the youngster has impressed in the middle of the park, scoring three goals, registering seven assists and creating seven big chances for his team-mates, along with averaging 0.7 shots and 1.1 key passes per game.

The £1.4k-per-week midfield talent has also stood out in metrics more typical of his position, making 0.5 interceptions, 1.2 tackles and 0.5 tackles and winning 3.5 duels per match.

These returns have seen the 20-year-old average an impressive SofaScore match rating of 6.83, ranking him as the Black Cats’ joint 13th-best player in the league as he played a crucial role in the club’s push to secure a play-off semi-final spot.

Furthermore, former Sunderland manager Lee Johnson appeared particularly excited about the midfielder’s future in the game, stating of Neil shortly after the youngster put pen to paper on a new deal at the Stadium of Light: “You can see and feel the passion that he has got for Sunderland when you are coaching him, and he’s a great kid and a really good football player with bags of potential, and we’ll try and hone that as quickly as possibly.

“He’s technically a very good player, you can see the way he manipulates the ball, and I think he has added another dimension to his game in being able to drop and drive, as we call it, and receive the ball and commit players.

“He’s got that lovely dribbling technique, a little bit like a young Paul Gascoigne almost in the way he sort of hops and drags it at the same time which, as a defender, makes it very difficult to commit because as soon as you do, he’s got the ability to skip by you.”

As such, it is clear to see just how exciting a talent Neil is, leading us to believe that Paratici sealing a deal for the 20-year-old this summer would be yet another masterclass by the Italian sporting director.

Não foi neste domingo que o São Paulo conseguiu emendar vitórias convencendo. Mas, na raça, com gol aos 47 minutos do segundo tempo, o time bateu o Linense, lanterna do Campeonato Paulista, por 2 a 1, fora de casa.
O herói do dia foi Rodrigo Caio, autor da testada certeira, já nos acréscimos, que puniu a cera dos donos da casa e ajuda o Tricolor.

Saiu da garganta
Parecia que o São Paulo carregaria mais um mau resultado, mas a presença maior do time no campo de ataque, mesmo sem convencer, resultou em escanteio no fim. Na cobrança, Rodrigo Caio saltou mais do que qualquer rival para selar a vitória.

Domínio sem ambição
O São Paulo ocupou o campo do Linense e o retraiu à sua área, mas faltava ambição para um passe mais arriscado ou finalizar com perigo. Se o time de Dorival Júnior estava sem ânimo, o Linense aproveitou em seu primeiro chute no jogo. Aos 37 minutos do primeiro tempo, Murilo foi puxando a bola, só observado pelos adversários, até arriscar da entrada da área, abrindo o placar.

Uma luz antes do intervalo
Até o gol do Linense, Valdívia era o único que realmente se mexia para romper a retranca do Linense. Mas sair atrás do placar acordou o time. E, aos 41 minutos, Cueva saiu da área para aproveitar a passagem de Reinaldo e entregar a bola para o lateral encher o pé, empatando o jogo.

Ouviu a torcida para resolver
Se o primeiro tempo era desanimador, a volta do intervalo foi pior. O São Paulo chegou a ser pressionado pelo Linense nos primeiros minutos do segundo tempo, sem encontrar forças para acionar Valdívia, Cueva e Brenner, isolados na frente.

Dorival já teve de trocar Reinaldo, com dores musculares, por Edimar e, para encontrar uma solução, ouviu a torcida, que pediu Diego Souza e Nenê. O time até teve mais presença de ataque com os dois nas vagas de Marcos Guilherme e Cueva.

Agenda e situação na tabela
O São Paulo segue líder do Grupo B, com 14 pontos. Na quinta-feira, às 20h30, enfrenta o Palmeiras, no Allianz Parque, onde nunca somou pontos na história.
